Ticket costs

Tickets for Red October are available on a sliding-scale basis. We have four options available:

  • Low-wage/unwaged ticket: $25

  • Waged ticket: $50

  • Solidarity ticket: $100

  • Pay-what-you-can: any amount

Low-wage/unwaged tickets are available for people who are struggling against the cost-of-living crisis, but still want to attend Red October..

Waged tickets are available for those who are currently working and are able to afford a ticket at “regular” price..

Solidarity tickets are for those who want to financially support our work, and help cover the costs for other attendees who may not be able to afford to attend.

A pay-what-you-can option is available for anybody who wants to pay less (or more!) than any of the amounts given above. Nobody will be turned away for lack of funds.

Childminding

SURJ Toronto’s Childminding Collective will be providing childminding on Saturday, Oct 25th for the Red October Conference.

Childminding is distinct from childcare or babysitting. Volunteers will spend time and facilitate activities with kids while their parents and caregivers engage in the Red October conference sessions. They’ll bring fun games, crafts and toys. They won’t do diaper changes, offer food, or discipline kids, but will ensure a fun and comfortable environment, with parents and caregivers nearby!

We hope that by providing childminding at Red October we can support increased accessibility for parents and caregivers.

We are grateful to SURJ for this amazing service. Once you have your ticket please make sure to fill out our session selection & accessibility needs form to indicate if you require child minding.

Mask policy

Attendees are asked to wear a mask while at the conference. Masks will be provided for those who do not have a mask.

TMU Student Centre is a public space. As such, we cannot guarantee that other people using the space will be wearing masks.

Refund policy

If you have bought a ticket for Red October but can no longer attend and would like a refund please email us at info@springmag.ca. Refunds before 12pm ET on October 24th will be honoured, but we cannot guarantee that we will process returns after that time (as we will be very busy!).
